Meet Brandt McGillewie

Growing up on the coast in North Carolina, I was introduced to boats at a very young age. My father taught my brother and me how to drive boats and fish from the beginning when we could walk. As a kid, I would hang out on the fuel docks and help local charter captains clean their boats when they returned from a full day of fishing. As soon as I was old enough, I started working on charter boats, learning more about yacht management and what it takes to maintain sportfishing boats professionally.

I moved to Wilmington, NC, to attend the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where I received a bachelor’s degree in business with a focus on marketing and professional selling. During my college career, I have mated on numerous sportfishing boats and captained boats since receiving my captain’s license.

In my free time, I spend days on the water offshore chasing blue marlins competitively and for fun with family and friends. I also enjoy fishing nearshore, hunting, surfing, and spending time with friends on the beach.

I am genuinely excited to be a part of the team at Off The Hook Yachts, where I can take a true passion of mine and help guide clients into future boating experiences, which I have been so lucky to enjoy in the past years and years to come.
