John brings an impressive maritime background spanning over 32 years, with a remarkable 23 years spent navigating high-speed vessels. His expertise goes beyond yacht sales, encompassing consultancy, instruction, and yacht management services for both private and commercial vessel owners.
Before embarking on his current journey, John made significant contributions as a consultant for the Department of Defense. He played a pivotal role in training US Naval Officers on the intricate operations of Littoral Combat Ships, specifically the Freedom and Independence classes. During the years 2001 to 2007, John captained the M/V Athena and several other High-Speed Ferries, leaving an indelible mark as an exceptional instructor who effortlessly connected with students, tailoring his guidance to their specific vessels and topics of interest.
John boasts extensive hands-on involvement aboard various US Navy vessels, container ships, and research vessels. He holds a certificate in Business Management from Bryant University, an FAA private aviation pilot’s license, and a coveted United States Coast Guard Third Mate Officer license for Unlimited Tonnage.
Residing in Southern Rhode Island, John finds joy in the company of his wife and teenage daughter. Beyond his maritime pursuits, he’s an avid enthusiast of skiing, mountain biking, and any activity that lets him embrace the water.
