National Safe Boating Week 2017 – What You Should Know!

The National Safe Boating Council is kicking off their campaign with National Safe Boating Week from May 20 – May 16, 2017! They will be partnering with the US Coast Guard as well as the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators to promote boat safety.

How can you be safe while boating?

Wear a life jacket! The #1 safety tip that National Safe Boating Week promotes is to wear your life jacket every time you’re on the water. According to the US Coast Guard, an average of 700 boating deaths occur each year. 8 out of 10 of these victims were not wearing life jackets. This shows how essential a simple vest is for you and your family and friends’ safety! This year’s campaign slogan is Be Smart. Boat Safe. Wear It.
